WELCOME TO

Snuffy's Hooch

In loving memory of

David Terrence “Snuffy” Smith

A tribute to a gentleman, soldier, scholar, and judger of fine whiskey.
Donna at 30 years old, 1990
Foreword

From Terry's Niece Donna

“We've got rats in our hooch and the damn things are driving me crazy. I'm sorely tempted to open up on the little bastards with my .45, but I think lifers might frown on that. Pity.”
~ Sergeant Terry "Snuffy" Smith
Snuffy’s Hooch is the brain child of Terry’s best friend from high school and beyond, Ron Johnson, and myself. I saved his letters home to his mom, Marion Smith, from boot camp through his tour of duty in Vietnam, along with photographs, cassette “letters” sent to his mom in Madison, WI, and other memorabilia.
Terry’s personality shines through in this collection and it is my heart’s desire to share this wonderful soul with the world, especially America’s veterans of foreign wars community.
Losing my groovy uncle to suicide after he safely returned home to us from the war was unbearable. His story will live on through this site. ~ Donna Lee Murphy✌️ trigger warning
